I remember years ago thinking I wish I had more faith. God showed me: according to Romans 12:3, we are all given the same measure of faith. I had all He was going to give me. I (you, too) have been given the same measure of faith as Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Jerry Savelle and Kimon Criner.
My thought was, “No, I don’t,” until God showed me how these men of God take care of their faith. I love to garden, so God gave me a picture of faith as a garden. He showed me these men watering their gardens. They fertilize and weed them, and they don’t let anything in their gardens that would stop it from growing strong and beautiful.
I’ve begun to realize that some people have forgotten what true faith is. They have forgotten that the simplest form of faith is the key to a successful faith walk. When a problem starts to arise, we’ve started telling God, “Ok, time for You to prove Yourself to me again.” It’s a voice of desperation that’s clouded our confidence in what we already know instead of being confident and remembering that He’s already left all blessings in our hands.
faith and hope
All hope is in faith. Faith is the substance of all things hoped for. In other words, it’s the manifestation of our hope. Your faith is literally the substance which forces our hope to manifest (Hebrews 11:1).
Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget what’s really important: faith. We must not forget how confident our faith was when we first became saved (Hebrews 3:14). It seems we’ve replaced confident faith with desperation. When we find ourselves needing a miracle A.S.A.P. – and it happens to all of us – many of us are practicing a desperate attitude toward God.
