Let’s Talk About Sex

Kind of a shocking title to see on a church blog, huh? Well, the truth is that sex is an issue that is dealt with inside and outside of the church. Sex can be a beautiful, loving time of intimacy, but if it’s done carelessly, sex can result in a world of hurt.

I was talking to a friend about sex the other day.

Don’t judge me – let’s be real here, whether you’re a Christian or not, sex is an issue that adults are facing and it just isn’t useful to try to push it aside because it can be uncomfortable to talk about.

Back to the story. We started talking about how a person can be healed from brokenness, hurt or vulnerability that can come with sex – or even how to just feel clean before you enter a new or your first marriage covenant.

What came of this conversation, do you ask? Well, God is the ultimate healer and the one who is going to make you feel whole or complete again. Remember, God is love (1 John 4), and there isn’t anything that you could do or have done that could make Him love you any less.

When You’re in Need of a Sexual Healing

I came across the video below when a friend posted it on Facebook – and if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth a watch. Watching it as a 24-year-old female, it felt like the man’s (Jeffrey Bethke) words in the video only applied to people in my generation, but I realized that’s not true at all. The fears, betrayals, self consciousness and other emotions associated with sex are real for every age group.

Take a moment to watch this, and let me know what you think in the comments:
