The Authority of the Believer

Deacon David WillinghamI have been a painter most of my life, and I know all about paint – what kind you put on walls, what kind of brushes to use, etc. I am an authority in painting. When it comes to knowing your authority in Christ, where do you stand?

One thing is for sure – you have to read your Bible. It is the only way you will find out who you are and where you are going.

When you became a believer, you moved out of darkness and into the kingdom of light, giving you the right to use the name of Jesus with authority in every area of your life.

You can use it for:

  • Finances (Proverbs 8:21 and 10:22)
  • Peace (Romans 14:17)
  • Healing (1 Peter 2:24)
  • Eternal life (John 3:16)

All you have to do is believe it. Think about how quick you were to believe everything in the Word the day you asked Jesus into your heart – believe it as much as you did then.

There are so many more promises in His word – so, take the time to read it and find out what He has in store for you. And, when you read, read it slow, letting the Holy Spirit speak to you.
