matters of the “heart”

So it turns out that if you want to be scriptural about things, your heart is really your Pastors Bridgette and Kimon Crinerthoughts.

The definition in the Strong’s Concordance of “heart” is “the heart i.e. the thoughts or feelings (mind) also (by anal.) the middle” (Greek 2588), and the Word says, “For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks,” (Matthew 12:34).

I have found as a Pastor for 24 years that most people are full of everything but the Word – but they are most certainly full of something. According to the Word of God, you can’t hide what you’ve been thinking about because it will come out of your mouth. Always.

take control of your thoughts
People, in general, are a very arrogant bunch. We tend to think we are right all the time – really?! “I remember once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.” It’s an old joke but a motto most people live by.

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs and tries the hearts,” (Proverbs 21:2). Did you catch that? God weighs our thoughts – and it is your thought life that will manifest in the fruit surrounding you. For whatever you are full of will be evident in what you see happening around you.

Is your life full of worry, anxiety, depression and fear, or is it full of hope, peace and faith in what God will do on your behalf? Fix your heart or thoughts on the bigness of God, and let your mouth bring forth His praises. Controlling your thoughts is a big project, but it’s a God given project we have been assigned – and it will change your life.
